As the chaplain at Drury, I'm delighted by the recent renovation of Stone Chapel. From the 'green' HVAC system to the new elevator, the Pellham Phillips team guided the project with a sure and open hand. I found your firm very easy to work with.
We wanted our buildings to look nice and tie together. We didn't want it to look like it was just added on and we didn't want to end up spending too much money. We wanted to be a good corporate neighbor and have an attractive building, without it being the Cadillac edition. You were able to accomplish that very nicely.
Your firm took input from all departments and all employees. You took the time to learn how it all flowed together, including the actual physical, material, and electronic movement. It all works together very smoothly. You learned what space we needed for now and the future.
You took the time and encouraged our management to look at the flow. You included everyone in the process. You took that input, which sometimes included some 'blue sky ideas' and came up with a solution that worked and was one that we could afford. When the building was completed, everyone felt like they had input.
Your interior design people came out and helped us coordinate the colors and design of the building. While the colors may have been a stretch for us at the time, we were very pleased with the results and we've had numerous compliments about our facility. That was another strong asset for your firm."

I have had the privilege of showing many people through the new addition. I also hear the positive comments that they make as they tour the church. Some people cannot believe that we added on to the sanctuary because it looks so much like the historic sanctuary. The addition is historically sensitive and quite beautiful, it melds the century old style with modern technology and comfort and has enabled the congregation to grow and use the facilities in a variety of new ways that were not possible before.
One of our committee members stated that the mark of a great architect is to give the client what he (the client) wants. That is exactly what we got.
Your firm was patient with us, as you know a church can move sort of slow, the end result is a congregation that is pleased with this addition and a community that marvels at the style, beauty, and function of this expansion.

Springfield Fire Department has had the pleasure of hiring Pellham Phillips Architects & Engineers to design and oversee the construction of two of the last three fire stations we have built since 2001.
